Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The Indonesian Journal of Acupuncture permits the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation, provided that academic integrity, transparency, and research ethics are maintained.

1. Use of AI by Authors

AI tools may be used to improve language, grammar, translation, and manuscript organization. Authors must verify all AI-generated content, references, data, and interpretations to ensure accuracy and originality. AI must not be used to fabricate data, falsify results, or generate misleading scientific evidence.

2. Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must disclose the use of AI tools when they contribute substantively to manuscript preparation, research, data analysis, or interpretation. The disclosure should identify the tool and explain its purpose. Authors remain fully responsible for the manuscript's content and integrity.

3. AI Authorship

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship is reserved for individuals who meet the journal's authorship criteria.

4. Use of AI by Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers must protect manuscript confidentiality and must not upload confidential manuscript content to AI tools without appropriate authorization. Editorial decisions and peer-review assessments remain their own responsibility.

Violations of this policy may result in rejection, correction, or other appropriate editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
