Corrections, Retractions, and Article Removal Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Acupuncture is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of its published scholarly record. Corrections, retractions, and article removals are handled transparently and in accordance with publication ethics principles.

1. Corrections

Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in a published article that affect its accuracy or clarity but do not invalidate the overall findings. The journal will publish a correction notice describing the error and the changes made, where appropriate.

2. Retractions

An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence of serious research or publication misconduct, including data fabrication, data falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or major errors that invalidate the findings. Retraction decisions are made by the editor after appropriate assessment and consultation, when necessary. A retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction, and the original article will remain accessible where appropriate, clearly marked as retracted.

3. Article Removal

Article removal is considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as when publication creates serious legal risks, violates privacy or confidentiality, or presents a significant risk of harm. Removal will be handled carefully, and a notice explaining the reason will be provided where legally and ethically possible.

4. Editorial Responsibility

All cases are assessed fairly and objectively, taking into account available evidence and relevant publication ethics guidance. Authors may be contacted and given an opportunity to respond before a decision is made. The journal aims to ensure that any action taken protects the integrity of the scholarly record.
